The Tragedy of the Unopened Gift

We had a great discussion on Sunday about opening and using our gifts for God. For inspiration from the word check out 1 Peter 4:10-11. What a great verse! Let's all use this verse to inspire us this week to work for our LORD!
We will be talking about our "calling" next week and look foward to seeing everyone.
Welcome to the SWCC Family to Jeremy and Laurie Turner, we rejoice to have this new family with us and look foward to meeting their little one soon. Don't forget the baby shower on May 21, 2006 at 3pm at the Ray's Home.

Water Walking

We had a great discussion Sunday about water walking and failure! Thanks everyone for the great participation. Don't forget that Sunday May 14th and Sunday May 21 you can have your family picture made or remade for the new SWCC directory in the Atrium. Some of us have had several new family additions since the last picture, so please go make that new kid official! We will also be putting together a new class directory with pictures!
We had to "new" families join us on Sunday for class: Andy and Rebecca Simmons and Matthew and Teash Shaefer! Make sure and meet these couples and welcome them to Spring Woodlands.
Chris Tomlin tickets are still available for this Saturday night! Check in with the church office for tickets!

A new Young Families lifegroup will start meeting on Wednesdays at the church from 7 pm to 8 pm, with the first meeting being this Wednesday, May 3 in Room 301B. This group will be led by the Wesley's, the Daugherty's and the Mathews. Our study at first will be the curriculum provided by Glenn Drysdale that covers the previous Sunday's sermon from Carl Etchison. The new lifegroup is open to any couples that are not currently involved in another lifegroup. Childcare will be provided through the church. We look forward to growing closer to God and to each other.

We had a great turn-out on Sunday with over 30 people in class. Many prayer requests were shared and we hope everyone will spend some time in pray interceding for our brothers and sisters this week. Watch your e-mails for a list of those. We also had the announcement durring worship that Carl will be our full time Senior Minister on a permanent basis! What a blessing to have the Etchisons here serving this church, and we also had our new Worship Minister Rod Brady with us. Remember to pray for all of our ministers and their families. Other things to remember:
*May 21, 2006 at 3pm there will be a baby shower for Laurie Turner and baby boy. She is registered at Target and Babies R Us. The shower will be at Ce Ce Ray's house.
*Men's Wild at Heart class on Sunday nights from 7-9pm in the chapel
*Watch for the Women's Ministry NewsLetter next Sunday!
